Our design team contributed to the design development of Mohawk Group's Commercial Design Headquarters in Dalton, Georgia. Working under the company's guidance, we researched and developed concepts that catered to specific markets established by the company.
The concept LightLab, "is a prismatic laboratory of creation where reflection ignites experimentation, where imagination drives innovation, and where collaboration is inherent to inspire the greatest flooring products in the world."
This project is a collaborative effort completed through the Collaborative Learning Center at the Savannah College of Art and Design in conjunction with Mohawk Group.
Final Presentation Boards
During the programming phase, our team conducted interviews and staff surveys to understand the spatial adjacencies and functional requirements of the proposed space. We also visited the site to develop demographics of the location, interior measurements of the existing space, and a building codes analysis.
Left: The circulation around the central "LightLab" of the plan holds interactive walls to display awards.
Bottom Left: This hand rendering shows views of the central "LightLab" where clients and staff can interact.
Bottom: These digital renderings illustrate the design and material selections of the circular space. The private offices are visually connected to the open workstations, which influences collaboration. Following the windows, a red-carpeted indoor fitness trail circulates the entire space and gets employees moving.
